Volunteer Opportunities

The Bridge of the Penn-York Valley Churches is an all volunteer organization with many opportunities to participate in ministry.  Below is a partial listing:

    • Clearinghouse Co-Coordinator – Manages the Clearinghouse phone coordinating requests for assistance and those volunteering or donating.
    • Voucher WriterMeets with clients to complete application and voucher process.  Flexible time that is mutually determined.
    • Coordinator for Interim Assistance & Catastrophic Assistance – Administers these programs meeting with clients and coordinating assistance.
    • Clothes Closet – Individuals to serve clients when we are open and to assist with sorting and straightening items.
    • Mobile Food Pantry – Volunteers from 9a to about 12n on the 3rd Wednesday of each month to assist in a variety of activities from directing traffic, packing food in boxes, and loading vehicles.
    • Valley Food Pantry – Volunteers are needed in 2-hour increments to serve those in need of food during hours of operation which are Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday 10a-12n; and Tues and Wed 2p-4p.
    • Helping Hands – A need for volunteers to pick up and deliver furniture as well as organize the building where clients come to select needed items.
    • Kids at Risk There is opportunity to assist in managing donated items, assembling hygiene kits, assisting in purchasing and delivering desired items.
    • Cleaners – Volunteer need to clean monthly at the Clothes Closet and/or the space used at the Christian Life Church.
    • Photographer The position is available immediately and involves taking photos at our events and ministries for use on the website and other communication vehicles.
    • Other – The are other opportunities that arise during the year and new programs being explored with opportunities as well!
